History of Nimruz University

Nimruz University was established in 1396 Solar Hijri (2017/2018) as one of the public higher education institutions in Nimruz Province. The university was founded to provide educational opportunities for the youth of the province and neighboring areas, and it has played a valuable role in enhancing the region’s academic capacity.

Initially, the university began its academic activities with the Faculty of Education. Over time, the Faculties of Education, Economics, Agriculture, and Sharia were added to its structure. It currently consists of four faculties and twelve departments.

At present, with qualified academic staff, organized educational programs, and adequate resources, Nimruz University is recognized as one of the important higher education institutions in western Afghanistan.

The university currently enrolls hundreds of students at various levels, and its graduates are employed in different governmental and private sector institutions.
